Doing Journalism since 1991. My first posting was at the Broadcasting Corporation of Belize (BCB) Trainee News Reporter. In 1993 I went to work at the Reporter Press and worked with Mr. Harry Lawrence for almost two years. I missed radio and returned to BCB in 1995 and from there I moved through the ranks and file until I became a Senior News Reporter at the now defunct BCB. In 1998 I had a stint at the Belize Information Service (the now Press Office) Television Unit where I worked with seasoned Journalists like Edward Yorke, Miguel Hernandez and Selwyn King. I was then hired by the Port Authority as the Assistant Public Relations Officer but with the change of government in 1998 came the massive firings of everyone believed to be supporters of the UDP. When the United Democratic Party became the Opposition the need for a medium to vent out all the oppressions this vindictive government was doing to the people saw the birth of the Opposition's newspaper "The Guardian Newspaper." I came to work for this newspaper with my Editor at that Time Former Senator and now Prosecutor Audrey Matura. It was at that time that we made many enemies because we believed that by keeping the people informed we stepped on many ministers' toes. We reached to the point that the PUP ministers made their business to pick up a copy of the newspaper before going to the House meetings. Remijio Montejo and other PUP minister were caught reading the newspaper during a house meeting. With 15 years experience under my belt, I have seen gruesome murders, but what saddens me is the murders of the five little girls who were killed and their cases were never solved. Just prior to Municipal elections I started a television Programme "Belizean Voice" where we invited the Party Leader Dean Barrow and a number of UDP Standard Bearers countrywide. I believe that an informed voting populace can make the right choice.
